Rapides Guinette

Rumour has it there's a kilometer long portage along the left bank, but I don't know of anyone who has actually used it. Rather, you can easily line any section that makes you uncomfortable or, in fact, the entire rapid.

Along the right bank you can run (Class II+) or line the upper section - to the promontory with an excellent campsite and the memorial marker to Alec Guinette. There's a short portage/pullover to a large eddy, on the other side of the big ledge, which you can paddle to the next section of rapids ... a Class I - Triple Ledge combo. You can line past these obstacles as well ... or choose to run just the last 2 ledges.

Along the left bank, you can run (Class I) or line to the first big ledge, pull over that, then ferry across a relatively placid pool to the promontory on the right bank then continue as above.

If I get any more info on the alleged portage, I'll post it here.
